The number one thing I don’t leave the house without is earrings (second is my lip balm.) Earrings for me, not only complete an outfit but take it to the next level. A simple outfit, like a pair of jeans, a white t-shirt, and pumps, is cool, but add a clutch and statement earrings, you are ready for a night out on the town, with your hubby or girlfriends.
Also, I just like your clothes, your earrings allow you to express yourself. If you see a woman with a pair of classic pearl studs, you think okay, maybe she is going to an interview, or perhaps she just wanted to look simple and elegant today. But if you see a woman with feathered and beaded earrings, she immediately grabs your attention; you automatically think mmmm… where is she going, or today she wanted to make a statement.
To emphasize how integral earrings are apart of my aesthetic and look, let’s tell a short story. One morning while driving to work, the back of my earring broke; I was too far from my Airbnb to go back and I didn’t want to be late, so I actually stopped at Target and looked for a pair of earrings. Now I keep an extra pair of earrings in the car, statement, and simple.
I never leave without earrings or show up any place without them. They complete my outfit, whether they are a statement earring or my classic studs, I feel put together or ready to work.
