10 Wearable and Chic Fall Trends

It’s been awhile but I’m back. Chic fall trends are here.

Pre-fall is my favorite season next to spring because you can still get away with wearing sundresses, but you may have to wear a layered look in the same week.

Let’s get into 8 fall trends that are wearable and chic; as you know, I break them into affordable and luxury.

Chic Fall Trends

1. My favorite PUFF SLEEVES

If you don’t follow me on Instagram or Youtube: you wouldn’t know, but puff sleeves are my newest obsession. I would say all recent blouses and dresses I have bought are either puff sleeves or the sleeves have some type of volume. I have subtle sleeves, and then I have over the top sleeves.

This fall will be all about ridiculous sleeves and volume, no just blouses, but sweaters as well.

2. Sophisticated Cutouts.

This is not your slashed t-shirt or sweater from the 80s; this is a chic version. You will see this trend in all colors and texture. Designers are coming up with all different ways to cut out a blouse and sweater, and the shapes the cutouts are making are beautiful.

3. Sweater Sets

Another favorite of mine…sets. I currently have 2 and looking for more, one a pastel green and a dark green. This set will serve you well and will take you into winter. I love sets because you can pair them with something else, and when you put one on, you are dressed.

4. Padded Shoulders

This trend has been everywhere; literally, you look on Instagram, just about every person is wearing one. And now that the weather is changing, designers have added sleeves. At first, I shied away from this trend because I have an alethic build with broad shoulders and assumed the pads would make my shoulders look even broader. But to my amazement, I bought one from Zara, and I am in love; the padded shoulder shirt will instantly up-chic your look.

Style Tip: simply wear a padded t-shirt with your favorite pair of jeans, a few necklaces, ankle boots and you’re ready.

For a dressier look pair with a pencil skirt, statement earrings and pumps. To finish the look off add a clutch.

5. Stacked Jewelry

This trend comes and goes. But this fall and winter will follow suit like it did in spring and summer. Stacked jewelry again will instantly up-chic a look. Take the last trend( padded shoulder top ) and pair it with stacked jewelry. Also, when it’s no longer a trend, you can wear your stacked jewelry separately.

6. Chocolate Brown

Birthday suit, just kidding. If you didn’t know, chocolate brown will be everywhere this fall. Full on chocolate brown look, and I am here for it. The color is so rich and beautiful.

Style tip: you can do a full-on monochrome look, or you can pair it with another deep and rich color like blue or green. It will also look good with burgundy and magenta. This color will be considered a neutral if you have not paired it as a monochrome look.

7. Ribbed Dresses

These were in for spring and summer, and it will be no different for fall. I like ribbed dresses because they are thin enough to layer.

8. Fringe Dresses and Skirts

Welcome back the 70s……far out. Of course, this will be the 2020 version with a little more sophistication. Shoes, dresses, skirts, you name it, it will be incorporated into every piece you can think of.

9. The Chelsea Boot

We all know and love this boot; it’s a classic but this fall and winter it will be on trend. You will find it in all different colors and textures, and some designers are playing with the thickness of the sole. You could say this a trend within a trend. Chunky soles will be making a comeback.

10. Cocktail rings

Instead of showcasing a statement on your ear, opt for your hands. Cocktail rings, even though the name suggests it should only be worn at cocktail hour, this fall wear them whenever you want. Not into statement earrings, then this trend is for you; opt for an over the top ring instead.

Which trends will you take part in, and which ones are already in your closet?

With class and grace,
